Privacy Policy

This explains what Afterpost collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we use your information to make your reels and run your account, we don't sell it, we don't train AI on it, and we don't run ads or ad trackers. Questions or requests: support@afterpost.ai.
What we collect
- Your account: your email, a scrambled version of your password (we never store the password itself), and your name and email from Google if you sign in with Google.
- Your business: name, trade, city, phone, booking line, logo, brand color, the look you pick for your reels and the goals you pick at sign-up (like "More leads").
- Your content: the videos, photos and sounds you upload, the reels we make, and the words spoken in your videos (we turn speech into captions).
- How you use Afterpost: the jobs you create, the changes you make to reels in the editor, and basic technical logs (like your IP address and browser), used for security, fixing problems and improving reels.
- Payments: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we keep your plan, your Stripe customer reference and, for free trials, Stripe's scrambled card fingerprint (see below).
- The call-back form: if you leave your number on our homepage, we keep your business name, trade, city and contact details to get back to you.
- Businesses we reach out to: if we message your business, we keep what your business shows publicly (name, handle, city, a recent post), what we sent, and whether you opened the personal link we sent you and made an account. Ask us and we'll delete it.
How we use it
- To make, edit and store your reels, and show them to you.
- To run your account, take payments and send emails you need (like password resets and receipts).
- To help you get going: someone on our team may call, text or email you about your own account, like helping with your first reel. We don't send sales or promo emails unless you agree to them.
- To keep Afterpost safe and fair: limiting login attempts, stopping abuse, keeping free trials to one per business, finding bugs.
- To improve Afterpost, for example learning which edits shops keep changing so our editing rules make fewer of them.
We don't sell your information, we don't use your content in our marketing without asking you first, and we don't use your videos or photos to train AI models.
To fix problems and make reels better, people working on Afterpost may look at your uploads and reels. We do this only to run and improve the service.
Faces and voices in your videos
So that on-screen words never cover anyone, our software finds where faces are in each frame. It doesn't recognize who anyone is, and we don't keep any face data once the reel is made. Speech is turned into captions on our own video server. Google's AI also watches your clips to plan the edit, under terms that don't let Google use them to train its models.
Who helps us run Afterpost
We share data only with companies that help us run the service, only what they need, under contracts that protect it:
- Google: the AI that watches your clips to plan the edit, sign in with Google, and our business email.
- Cloudflare: storing your files and running our domain.
- Vercel: hosting the website and app.
- Neon: our database.
- Hetzner: our video server, which renders your reels, turns speech into captions and finds faces so words don't cover them.
- Stripe: payments.
- Resend: sending emails.
Your data is stored and processed mainly in the United States and Europe (our video server is in Finland). Google may process AI requests in other countries where it runs data centers. We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a new owner if Afterpost is ever sold, under this same policy.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you logged in (it lasts 30 days) and short-lived ones while you sign in with Google. If you open a personal link we sent you (afterpost.ai/r/...), one more cookie remembers that link for 30 days, so we know which of our messages led to your account; it never leaves Afterpost. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout and billing pages. No analytics or advertising cookies, so there's no cookie banner to click through.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account and files while your account is open.
- If you ask us to delete your account (cancel your plan first), we delete it and your files within 30 days, and backup copies are gone within 30 days after that.
- We keep billing records longer where tax law requires.
- To keep free trials to one per business, we keep a small record that a trial was used (the card fingerprint from Stripe and a scrambled copy of your email), even after your account is deleted. We use it for nothing else.
Your choices and rights
- See, correct or download the information we have about you.
- Delete your account and everything in it.
- Ask questions or complain about how we handle your data.
Email support@afterpost.ai and we'll reply within 30 days. If we say no to a request, you can ask us to look at it again. Depending on where you live (for example Canada under PIPEDA, or US states such as California), you may have more rights, and you can complain to your privacy regulator. We don't sell or share your information for advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over encrypted connections, passwords are stored scrambled, and your files are private: they open only through short-lived links for your logged-in account. No system is perfect, and if something ever goes wrong that affects you, we'll tell you promptly.
Customers in your videos
If your reels show your customers or staff, you're responsible for having their permission. If someone asks us to remove a video they appear in, we'll work with you to take care of it.
Children
Afterpost is a tool for businesses and isn't meant for anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect information about children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email you before it takes effect.
