Terms of Service
Last updated October 1, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Afterpost ("we", "us"), a business based in Ontario, Canada, for using afterpost.ai and the Afterpost app. By creating an account or using Afterpost, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Afterpost. Questions: support@afterpost.ai.
1. What Afterpost does
Afterpost turns videos and photos of your work into short social media videos ("reels") with your branding, using automated editing (including AI) and an editor you can use yourself. You decide what to download and where to post it. We don't post anything on your behalf unless you ask us to.
2. Your account
- Afterpost is for businesses and the people who run them. You must be at least 18.
- Give us accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us right away if you think someone else got into your account.
- You're responsible for what happens in your account.
3. Plans and payment
- Paid plans are billed in advance through our payment provider Stripe, either monthly or yearly. A yearly plan is charged for the whole year up front. Plans renew automatically until you cancel.
- Free trial: new shops get 3 days free on any paid plan. We ask for your card at the start and charge the plan's price when the trial ends, unless you cancel before then. If you cancel during the trial, you pay nothing.
- One free trial per business. We may decline a trial, or end one early without charging you, if the business, the person or the card has had a trial before, or if the card is prepaid. You can still pick a plan without a trial.
- You can cancel any time: on the Plan page in Afterpost, tap "Change card, invoices or cancel", which opens Stripe's billing page. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for. We don't refund partial periods, except where the law requires it.
- If a payment fails, Stripe tries again over the following days and we'll email you. If it keeps failing, your plan ends and your account moves to the free plan.
- Each plan includes a set number of AI edits, shown on the pricing page. Editing in the editor yourself isn't limited.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice by email. A founding price stays the same for as long as that subscription stays active.
- Prices are in US dollars and don't include taxes, which are added where required.
4. Your content
Your videos, photos, logos and reels stay yours. Use your reels anywhere for your business, including ads. You give us permission to store, process, edit and display your content only so we can run Afterpost for you: making and showing your reels, keeping your files, answering your support requests and fixing problems. We won't use your content in our own marketing without asking you first, and we don't use it to train AI models.
To fix problems and make reels better, we may look at the files you upload and the reels we make for you. Only people working on Afterpost do this, and only for running and improving the service.
When you upload something, you confirm that:
- you own it or have the right to use it;
- everyone who can be recognized in it (customers, staff, people passing by) agreed to being filmed and shown, and to it being posted;
- it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights, and isn't hateful, sexual, violent or misleading.
If someone makes a legal claim against us because of content you uploaded or posted, or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it. We may remove content that breaks these terms.
5. Copyright complaints
If you think something on Afterpost uses your work without permission, email support@afterpost.ai with what it is, where you saw it, and how we can reach you. We'll look into it, remove it if it breaks someone's rights, and close the accounts of people who do this repeatedly.
6. AI and results
Automated editing can get things wrong, for example a caption, a cut or a label. Watch each reel before you post it; you're responsible for what you publish. We work hard to make reels that help you get booked, but we can't promise any number of views, followers, customers or sales.
7. Fair use
Don't misuse Afterpost. For example, don't:
- try to get into accounts or data that aren't yours, or test, scan or break our security;
- overload the service, scrape it, or use bots to get around plan limits;
- make extra accounts to get more free trials or AI edits;
- copy, resell or rebuild Afterpost, or reverse engineer it;
- use it to make spam, scams or content that pretends to be someone else.
8. Changes and availability
We keep improving Afterpost, so features may change. We aim to keep it running smoothly but can't promise it will never be down or have bugs. We'll tell you by email at least 14 days before any change to these terms that matters to you; using Afterpost after that means you accept the new terms.
9. Ending your account
- You can stop using Afterpost at any time. To delete your account, cancel your plan first, then email support@afterpost.ai. Download any reels you want to keep before you go: once your account is deleted, your files are gone.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users or the service at risk. Unless it's serious or urgent, we'll warn you first and give you time to download your reels.
- If we ever shut Afterpost down, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and refund any time you paid for but can't use.
See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
10. Liability
Afterpost is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses (like lost profits or lost business), and our total liability for all claims is limited to US$100 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, whichever is less. Nothing here limits rights you have under laws that can't be waived.
11. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If we disagree about something, email us first: most things can be fixed quickly.
12. The small print
- These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about Afterpost.
- If one part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If Afterpost is sold or merged, these terms move to the new owner, and we'll tell you.
- We aren't responsible for delays caused by things outside our control, like outages at our providers.
- Ideas or feedback you send us can be used to improve Afterpost, without owing you anything.
- Emails and notices in the app count as written notice.
